Authors' recommendations: The main conclusion of a Danish comment of an updated Cochrane Review of July 2005 is that there is evidence of effect on incidence of fractures by treatment with bisphosphonates in women with breast cancer and with recognized bone metastases. There is some evidence of effect in terms of pain reduction and improved quality of life, but there is no documented effect in terms of increased survival.
