Authors' recommendations: Patients with in-stent restenosis, when treated with drug eluting stents, had less target vessel revascularization and target lesion revascularization in comparison to vascular brachytherapy or balloon angioplasty; incidences of death and stent thrombosis were similar. However, robust long term data is lacking. One guideline recommends the use of DES for in-stent restenosis patients under specific circumstances.
