Authors' recommendations:
Genesearch Breast Lymph Node (BLN) assay performs comparably to existing intraoperative diagnostic techniques for macrometases. It would appear that Genesearch BLN may be of great benefit to patients undergoing sentinel lymph node biopsy, however cost effectiveness and patient outcome data were not found. HealthPACT have recommended that this technology be monitored for further information in 24 months.
