Authors' recomendations: There were 3787 articles retrieved on AI applications in clinical care and healthcare management; articles related to clinical care numbered 3398, with 398 associated with healthcare management. Of the documents on clinical care, those relating to diagnosis represented 2141 articles (63.17% of the macro-area). Those relating to healthcare Management focused more on the field of healthcare quality with 316 articles (79.39% of the macro-area). The forms of AI considered showed different distribution patterns in both macro-areas. Thus, neural networks represented most scientific production (29%) in terms of clinical care, and healthcare management was most represented by forms of simulation (27.8% simulation models and 23% computer aided simulation). Also, 5605 articles were recovered on the use of AI in various medical specialties. Most instances were found for oncology (1240 articles), followed by neurology (986 articles) and cardiovascular diseases (793 articles), with the sum of these three specialties accounting for 55% of the articles, with other specialties showing a much lower frequency.
