[Patient decision aids tool for prostate cancer]

Authors' objectives:
To design and develop a Shared Decision-making Tool for prostate cancer patients. To identify PDA already developed in prostate cancer and to evaluate its impact in relation to results on the decision. To collect information about the psychosocial needs of men with prostate cancer when they have to make choices regarding therapeutic options
Authors' recommendations:
This tool is a new initiative over the Unit for Health Technology Assessment (UETS) in the Spanish context. It collects opinions and experiences of other PDA tools and qualitative analysis of data collected through interviews in-depth, with significant benefits in patients with prostate cancer and the team of health professionals. Implementation and dissemination of this shared decision-making tool is an additional support in the national oncology setting and the way that patients to manage the uncertainty facing the decision regarding the choice of treatment.
