Relieva balloon sinuplasty (Acclarent Inc.) for treatment of chronic sinusitis

Record ID 32011001497
English
Authors' objectives:

Each year in the United States, approximately 37 million people develop chronic sinusitis. About one-third of these people see a physician for treatment of symptoms such as congestion, facial discomfort, headache, and general discomfort. Since there are many potential causes for chronic
sinusitis, treatments vary and may include antibiotics, steroids, decongestants, and antihistamines. Patients who have persistent or recurring chronic sinusitis may require functional endoscopic sinus surgery, a minimally invasive treatment that uses instruments mounted at the end of long thin
catheters to drain and aerate sinuses, and to remove overgrown and infected tissue.
