Computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) systems for breast ultrasonography: classification of masses

Record ID 32011001456
English
Authors' objectives:

Computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) systems use algorithms to process medical images or other medical data to detect signs of abnormality, with simple identification of suspicious regions for further review by a physician, or the offering of diagnostic confidence levels on abnormalities, or providing subtle quantitative physical or chemical information to the practitioner. The purposes of the CADx systems are to assist radiologists in interpreting medical images, unify the interpretation across alternative modalities, and reduce the oversight errors, burden of workload, and biopsy rate.
