Computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) systems for breast ultrasonography: cancer detection and diagnosis

Record ID 32011001455
English
Authors' objectives:

The computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) systems use algorithms to process medical images or other medical data to detect signs of abnormality. These systems identify suspicious regions for further review by a physician, offer diagnostic confidence levels on abnormalities, and provide subtle
quantitative physical information to the practitioner. The purposes of the CADx systems are to assist radiologists in interpreting medical images, unify the interpretation across alternative modalities, and reduce the oversight errors, burden of workload, and biopsy rate.
