Catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) is a percutaneous procedure in which thrombolytic agents are delivered via catheter directly to the site of a blood clot (thrombus) that is causing venous occlusion. The objective of CDT is to hasten clot dissolution and minimize adverse effects associated with
systemic thrombolysis.
