Authors' recommendations:
It is difficult to draw conclusions based on the limited data available. CT use, especially in children, has increased rapidly in recent years. It is challenging to find an appropriate balance between image quality and dosage of radiation exposure.Well-designed clinical studies are needed to inform evidence-based decisions about the use of MSCT in a pediatric population. No recent relevant clinical practice guidelines were identified. As a result, there is a need to develop guidance for clinicians on the use of MSCT among children.
