Authors' recommendations: The body of evidence included in this rapid review was comprised of one health technology assessment (HTA) report, six systematic reviews, one randomized controlled trial (RCT) and five non-randomized studies. Overall, evidence of the diagnostic accuracy and clinical effectiveness of lumbar and cervical facet joint injections is conflicting and subject to a number of limitations. As such, the diagnostic accuracy and clinical effectiveness of lumbar and cervical facet joint injections remains largely unknown.
