Authors' recommendations:
Several blood glucose monitors available in Canada were found to be clinically accurate, but their precision could not be verified for all evaluated devices. Evidence from one randomized trial showed that blood glucose monitors with an integrated logbook had significant effect in lowering blood glycemic control. No evidence on the most cost-effectiveness of blood glucose monitors and test strips for patients with diabetes was found.
