Authors' objectives:
This report will assess the tridimensional EnSite NavX system as a new technology for arrhythmia mapping.
Authors' recommendations:
The NavX navigation system is part of a new generation of electroanatomical mapping systems in electrophysiological studies. These navigation systems seem to be more accurate in detecting the anatomical or physiological complex substrates and, in general, they are more expensive. The available evidence includes small clinical trials of poor methodological quality. There is not a clear superiority of this technology over standard fluoroscopy when speaking of relapses. Its potential advantage shown to date would be a shorter radiation exposure time.
