Point of care cholesterol testing for coronary heart disease: a review of the clinical effectiveness and guidelines

Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health
Record ID 32011000937
English
Authors' recommendations: POC cholesterol testing may be suited for screening purposes as there is insufficient evidence to support that it can replace laboratory testing for diagnosis of CHD or that it has comparable clinical effectiveness. Evidence-based recommendations for cholesterol testing are outlined in select guidelines which are assessed for quality and limitations in this report.
