Authors' recommendations: Insufficient research has been conducted to validate the clinical effectiveness of BPM chairs for reliably identifying hypertensive patients. Evidence-based clinical guidelines do not incorporate BPM chairs into algorithms for the diagnosis of hypertension, and acknowledge the lack of research towards their validation.
