Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase testing for stroke assessment in adults
Record ID 32011000890
English
Authors' objectives:
Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), a vascular inflammatory enzyme, has been investigated as a surrogate biomarker of increased stroke risk associated with atherosclerosis. Lp-PLA2 testing has been used as an adjunct to conventional stroke risk assessment in adults to determine who might benefit from specific risk-reducing interventions, such as pharmacological therapies and behavior modification strategies.
