Authors' recommendations: The evidence currently available on ILP places this technique as an effective approach for the management of patients with unresectable locally advanced melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma of the limbs (grade of recommendation B). Moreover, it is also a safe procedure with a low frequency of severe regional toxicity (grade of recommendation A) and systemic toxicity (grade of recommendation B). Nevertheless, the lack of experimental trials hinders the proposal of recommendations about the suitability of ILP in different clinical settings.
