[Helical tomotherapy. Current uses and utility]

Authors' recommendations:
The literature addressing the use of helical tomotherapy reports a wide range of applications that can be compared to other more widely used forms of radiotherapy. Although the level of scientific evidence in respect is average, the scientific output is substantial considering the novelty of the technique, and the clinical outcomes show the efficacy of the technique. Likewise the studies focused on dosing estimation of radiation report better figures in helical tomotherapy than in other forms of radiotherapy.
